Health informatics is the use digital technology to create and maintain health care records and billing information without using paper. Degrees and certification in health informatics can lead to a number of jobs, including medical records technician and health information manager. As most health care facilities shift to electronic records keeping, jobs in this field are expected to grow by 21 percent, which is faster than other occupations, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
